Hello, I’m Jennifer Rich, LPC, and welcome to Pathways to Wholeness Counseling Services.
If you have found your way to this page, you may be considering counseling because something in your life has become difficult to carry alone. Perhaps you are experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, a life transition, substance use concerns, or simply recognize that you are ready for something to change.
Whatever brought you here, I want you to know that you don't have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy.
Counseling can be a place to pause, laugh, breathe, reflect, and begin making sense of what you have been experiencing. It is a place where your story can be heard without judgment and where you can begin discovering a pathway toward healing and wholeness.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan with 9 years of clinical experience. Throughout my professional journey, I have had the privilege of working with children, young adults, adults, older adults, and families in a variety of behavioral health and community settings.
My experiences have included children's mental health, school-based behavioral health, substance use prevention and education, recovery support, dual diagnosis, court-ordered services, parole and reentry services, and community mental health.
These experiences have taught me something very important: every person has a story, and every story deserves to be heard.
I have learned that healing doesn't look the same for everyone. What works for one person may not work for another. That's why I believe counseling should begin where you are—not where someone else thinks you should be.
I believe every individual possesses the capacity to embrace self-awareness, grow, and heal.
I also believe that sometimes we need someone to walk beside us while we find our way.
My role is not to tell you who you should be or how you should live your life. Instead, I see myself as a guide and partner in the therapeutic process. Together, we can explore what you have experienced, identify the patterns that may be holding you back, recognize the strengths you already possess, and develop tools to help you move forward.
You may come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, uncertain, or even discouraged. My hope is that our work together can help you move from simply surviving difficult circumstances toward experiencing greater clarity, confidence, resilience, and hope.
I have a particular passion for helping individuals navigate grief and loss.
Grief can change us. It can affect our relationships, our emotions, our thoughts, our sense of purpose, and even our understanding of ourselves. Grief is not limited to the death of someone we love. We can grieve relationships, opportunities, roles, dreams, and significant changes in our lives.
I provide a compassionate space where clients can acknowledge their loss, process their emotions, and begin discovering how to move forward while honoring what—and who—matters to them.
My areas of expertise also include:
I believe therapy should be personal, practical, compassionate, and collaborative.
I utilize therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfulness Practices, and Motivational Interviewing.
These approaches allow us to explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, strengths, motivation, and practical solutions while keeping your individual needs and goals at the center of the counseling process.
Most importantly, I want you to feel that therapy is a place where you can be honest.
There is no need to pretend that everything is okay when it isn't.
There is no shame in asking for help.
And there is no requirement to have the "right" words.
We can start wherever you are.
My Christian faith is an important part of who I am and how I approach my work as a counselor. It shapes the compassion, hope, integrity, and purpose I bring into the counseling relationship.
I recognize that faith can be an important source of strength for individuals navigating some of life's most difficult moments. For clients who desire it, I offer faith-integrated counseling, incorporating Christian principles, Scripture, prayer, and spiritual reflection into the therapeutic process.
I believe that healing can involve the whole person—mind, body, emotions, relationships, and spiritual well-being.
Faith integration is always guided by the client's wishes, values, and goals. My intention is never to impose my beliefs, but to provide a welcoming space for individuals who want their relationship with God and their Christian faith to be part of their healing journey.
For those who choose to incorporate faith into counseling, we may explore questions of hope, purpose, forgiveness, identity, strength, and restoration.
I believe that faith and counseling can work together to help individuals discover pathways toward healing, resilience, restoration, and wholeness.
My educational and professional preparation includes:
Master of Arts in Professional Counseling
Master of Science in Administration, with a concentration in Leadership
Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education
My specialized professional training includes:
I value continued learning because I believe that effective counseling requires both professional knowledge and a willingness to continue growing.
I want you to know that you are more than a diagnosis, a difficult season, a mistake, a loss, or a circumstance.
You are a whole person with experiences, strengths, hopes, relationships, values, and possibilities.
Maybe you are coming to therapy because you are hurting.
Maybe you are tired.
Maybe you are trying to understand yourself.
Maybe you are ready to make a change but aren't sure where to begin.
Wherever you are in your journey, there is no judgment here.
My hope is that Pathways to Wholeness Counseling Services will be a place where you can slow down, feel heard, gain clarity, discover your strengths, and begin moving toward the life you desire.
Healing doesn't always happen quickly, and it rarely happens in a straight line.
There may be difficult days along the way. There may be moments when progress feels small. But small steps still matter.
You don't have to walk the journey alone.
If you are ready, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
Together, we can explore your story, honor your experiences, strengthen your resilience, and discover pathways toward greater healing, hope, and wholeness.
Your story matters. Your healing matters. And your journey toward wholeness is worth taking..
